The program focuses on empowering social workers, educators – teachers and school principals – and school behavior team members with strategies and techniques – based on the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports System (PBIS) – to ultimately improve the learning environment in schools. The program is tailored according to the targeted participants’ school cycle. Each participant receives a manual containing a wealth of information, practical skills, and a list of customized supporting materials. The manuals and materials are differentiated to ensure that they are appropriate to the cycle of the training group.
This program was implemented 20 times in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Gharbia; where ASK played a vital role in the level of satisfaction and improvement in the overall participants’ competences and skills in both: a) managing students’ behavior, and b) school-wide behavior management systems.
